Didn't Like Some of the Characters
Lady Alice Worthington likes a good adventure, but when a highwayman robs her of her heirloom pearls, it’s a bit much. Callum Edwards, Viscount Arndel, is being blackmailed into stealing from his new peers, thanks to his late cousin. Now that he’s about done with his debt, he will have to eventually think about finding a bride and mother for his daughter.
I thought I was going to really like this book from the plot, but I had some issues with it. I really liked Callum and understood what he was going through. My problem was with Alice and her mother and occasionally her brother. They seemed to randomly correct about things at odd times that had me scratching my head. I found that I just didn’t like her. It made it hard for me to get through the book.
