Isabel had been called into the superintendents office at Fellsworth school. Isabel had been informed she had a relative by the name of Mrs. Margaret Ellison of Emberwilde Hall. Mrs Ellison wished to open her home to Isabel/ She was Isabel’s mother’s sister. Isabel’s mother had died when she was five.Mrs.s Ellison had only recently learned of father’s death. Isabel was seven when she came to the school she is now twenty. Isabel had a half sister Lizzie  that Isabel is guardian of. Lizzie was also at the school and she was also to come with Isabel. They were to leave for Emberwilde Hall immediately. Suddenly Isabel is a lady and have two men suitors- one is the man who delivered the message to the school- Mr. Bradford who is head of the foundling home for both the boys and girls. The other is Mr. Gallaway who is a local magistrate and land owner.

I liked this story alot. Isabel’s reaction to the whole new life is very realistic. There was alot to this story: mystery, greed, broken hearts, ex girlfriend, controlling aunt, controlling mother, intrigue, smuggling, love, lessons, courtship, manipulation, loyalty, and so much more. I liked the characters alot is this story. I loved the ins and outs of this story. I recommend.
