Teagan is a werewolf who's been in Sanctuary for about 10 months. She has been deeply grieving her mate and her daughter dying while they were escaping. The only way she survives is by visiting the Castle, where a Dom vampire doles out  enough pain to make her not feel anything else. One night, there’s a special mixer at the Castle and fairy magic  pairs her up with Finn, another werewolf. When Finn gets matched up with Teagan, he feels the magic letting him know she’s his mate. Now he must convince her to not outright reject him and figure out what has caused her so much pain.

This was a really great story. It was a novella with a huge BDSM overtone, but really, BDSM was more just the background to everything Teagan was going through. I’ve read a number of this author’s stories and this was definitely my favorite. She didn’t try cramming in as much sex as possibly and she didn’t try cramming the L word into a 2-day time period. I thought everything was paced wonderfully as my heart bled for Teagan. I highly recommend.
