Vinnie had been an FBI psychiatrist who chased down serial killers and had a pretty good success rate. But that was before the Scorpius  virus. Vinnie had been kidnapped by the president who since his recovery from the virus was a sociopath who believed Vinnie was a psychic. There were also people who had become crazed and called rippers who tried to eat other humans. There had been a large percentage of the population of North America who had  not survived the virus. The President had filled Vinnie with all kinds of CIA drugs and she felt like she was going insane she now heard voices and hallucinated. She had been rescued one week ago by Raze and he had taken her to Vanguard where Vinnie could be safe. But Raze was holding a big secret back he was to take Vinnie to the head of the Mercs as he had Raze’s sister Maureen there was suppose to be an exchange. Vinnie had been staying in an abandoned apartment away from headquarters but Raze was moving her and then the leader assigned Vinnie to share Raze’s apartment. He offered to bunk elsewhere but  couldn’t find a place to sleep and he had been awake a long time. Raze and Vinnie become involved but none in Vanguard knows that Raze is to take Vinnie and trade her to the head of the Mercs for his sister Maureen but will Raze be aqble to do it …..

I loved this story, it was excellent as far as I was concerned I didn’t want to put the book down once I started reading it. I usually don’t like post apocalyptic stories but this one did WOW me. It was a tad slow in the beginning biut did not take long for things to start happening and for me at least it was worth the wait. I loved the : action, intrigue , suspense, secrets, heros, rescues, and all that happens and is involved in this story. I loved the twists and turns in this story and I highly recommend.
